IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roberto Hernandez
Lopez
February 15, 1936 – May 13, 2024
Roberto Hernandez Lopez, 88, of Santa Barbara passed away peacefully on the morning of May 13, 2024, surrounded by his family at home. Roberto was born in Nayarit, Mexico, on Feb. 15, 1936.
Roberto was a family man first and foremost, and a strong pillar of life and knowledge. He enjoyed life and never took the moments shared with his very loving family and close friends for granted.
His loved ones were witness to how he fought every day despite his fragile health. He was full of life, laughter and love, and left us all with the gift of witnessing how life is a beautiful reflection of the love that surrounds you.
Roberto's fighting spirit was an example that miracles exist through God's grace. Roberto shared with those closest to him the opportunity to share with him his last moments in this life as he transitioned to the next.
He was and will forever continue to be a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Roberto is survived by his devoted wife Juana Hernández; his children Luz Lafrican, Roberto Hernández Jr., Hilda Vasquez, and Cesar Hernández; grandchildren Christina Aguilera, Kristy Hernández, Anthony Valdivia; sons-in-law Lorenzo Vasquez, Ron Lafrican, and Christian Aguilera; and great-grandchildren Isabel Vasquez, Juan Jose (Jr.) Hernández, Jonathan Vasquez, KC Aguilar, Sofia Valdivia, Luke Aguilera, Ezekiel Ramirez, Daniel Hernández, Isaac Hernández, Joseph Hernández, Jayden Hernández, Anthony Hernández Lopez and Roberto Richardo Hernández.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21 at St. Raphael's Church, 5444 Hollister Ave., Goleta, followed by interment at Goleta Cemetery, 44 S. San Antonio Road, Santa Barbara.
