Anna
Galindo
Dec 1942 — Jul 2026
Anna was an award winning, and legendary historic figure in Santa Barbara, CA who mastered in Flamencology, and designed beautiful custom fashion for the Arts. Anna was a beloved CEO & Professor of Flamenco Dance & Music who produced over 22 Jr. & Sr. Spirits of Fiesta with Old Spanish Days. Anna was also a deeply vetted expressionistic painter and muralist. Her work exceeded thousands of pieces of canvas art ready to be hung in a permanent exhibit. Anna was a Philanthropist. She made historic contributions to the City of Santa Barbara and Old Spanish Days by teaching hundreds of thousands of students for 50 long years with her school of dance and music that provided 35-40 large scale performances during the week of Fiesta. Each year since 1975, Anna incorporated live music and beautiful costumes that She personally designed and sewed. She was the first to bring live accompaniment to Old Spanish Days performances and she was also the first to bring gorgeous male flamenco dancers to the stages at the Old Mission and Santa Barbara Court House performances in addition to introducing males to the Jr/Sr Spirits of Fiesta that contributed to extremely successful levels of tourism this side of Spain!
A special Legacy Foundation is being created for Anna Galindo to establish a durable, legal structure for legacy preservation, art asset management and cultural philanthropy that will continue to serve the citizens of Santa Barbara as a public benefit. It will provide a strong historical pathway for future generations that will provide grants and scholarships to future Santa Barbara youth artists in dance, fashion design, music and painting with a focus on artistic stewardship. This focus will provide unique opportunities for youths to annually present their works of art that are supported by the City of Santa Barbara and Old Spanish Days.
