IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Aisha Carrie
Marie Johnson
December 20, 1987 – December 5, 2024
Celebrating the Life of Aisha Carrie-Marie Johnson
Aisha Carrie-Marie Johnson, born on a bright Sunday morning, December 20, 1987, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, was a beacon of love, laughter, and resilience. A proud 805 native, she was the cherished daughter of Gayle Millard and Mario Johnson, beloved sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Aisha's vibrant spirit left this world on December 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew her.
Aisha, the firstborn to Mario and Gayle, held a unique place in her family as the middle child, alongside her older brother, Phillip Wright, and younger sister, Brianna Johnson. Growing up in Santa Barbara, Aisha was surrounded by a loving extended family that brought endless joy to her life. Her radiant smile, with its signature "perked up cheeks," earned her a nickname that followed her throughout her journey.
From her childhood days at Washington Elementary to her adventures at La Cumbre Junior High and Santa Barbara High, Aisha forged lifelong friendships and discovered her passion for track and field. She continued to embrace new opportunities and relationships during her time at Santa Barbara Business College, where her determination and love for people shone brightly. Aisha's heart was her greatest gift. She approached life with compassion, hard work, and an infectious smile that lit up every room she entered. Whether balancing school, sports, or a job, she c arried her parents' values of kindness and dedication with grace. Her career at Mission Linen exemplified her warmth; she greeted everyone with a smile and often a sweet treat, brightening the day of colleagues and visitors alike. Though Aisha did not have children of her own, she poured her love and energy into being an extraordinary aunt and godmother. She embraced her roles with enthusiasm—whether offering words of encouragement, donning a tutu for a party, or chauffeuring her nieces and goddaughter to their activities. Aisha's unwavering support and love left a profound impact on all those she nurtured.
In recent years, Aisha faced health challenges with remarkable strength and faith. She found solace in spiritual growth and drew from a wellspring of inner resilience. With the unwavering support of her loved ones, including her devoted partner, Aaron, Aisha embraced life with courage and grace. She f aced her journey with hope, knowing that she would be reunited in heaven with her father, grandparents, aunts, and cousins who had gone before her. Aisha's love for the San Francisco 49ers was a testament to her zest for life.
As we celebrate her life, we invite friends and family to honor her memory by wearing red, white, black, and gold—colors as vibrant as her spirit.
A service will be held on her birthday, December 20, 2024, at 10 a.m. at South Coast Church, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Moose Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Aisha's honor to Santa Barbara's Back to Basics Equine Assisted Recovery or Genesis Sober Living – Ventura County.
Aisha Carrie-Marie Johnson may have left this world too soon, but her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will remain in our hearts forever. We celebrate her incredible life and the beautiful soul she will always be remembered as.
